On August 17, Fort Bend County Social Services, in partnership with Living Waters Christian Church and Free 2 Succeed, assisted a 56-year old Fort Bend County resident with home cleaning and repairs.
The resident was initially referred to FBC Social Services for assistance with a $6,000 electricity bill. Social services staff began working on the case immediately and within 24 hours a home visit was made. The client was identified as an individual who needs regular in-home medical care and is dependent on a breathing machine. Staff also reported to director, Anna Gonzales, the poor condition of the client’s home.
After visiting the client herself, Gonzales asked Rufus Guebara, program director at Free 2 Succeed and Daren Franks, pastor at Living Waters Christian Church, to help clean the home. The two agencies, along with Living Waters Christian Church, went on a one-day mission to clean, paint, and replace the carpet in the client’s home.
Fort Bend County Social Services would like to thank all the volunteers and partner agencies for their assistance in giving the client a safe and clean home.
To start, volunteers removed everything from the home. After cleaning, everything was replaced.
