Sugar Land residents can save gas money by taking advantage of a special offer to take one free round-trip ride in July on any of Fort Bend County’s transit services to designated destinations in Houston or Fort Bend County.
During the entire month of July, residents can download the “Take a Free Ride” coupon at www.sugarlandtx.gov and board the Fort Bend Express transit service to Greenway Plaza, the Galleria or the Texas Medical Center. Riders may also commute to downtown Houston via a transfer to Houston Metro for a small additional charge. Residents can also choose to catch one free round-trip ride anywhere within Fort Bend County via the County’s curb-to-curb Demand Response service.
“The “Take a Free Ride” offer is an opportunity for new riders to experience public transit benefits, including beating gas prices, enjoying a more relaxing commute and improving the environment,” said Sugar Land Director of Transportation & Long-Range Planning Patrick Walsh. “During the past decade, more and more Sugar Land residents have been enjoying Fort Bend County’s transit services which now provide 13,000 commuter rides per month.”
Fort Bend Express operates from two park and ride locations in Sugar Land: the AMC Theater parking lot, 3301 Town Center Blvd. South, and the University of Houston Sugar Land Campus, 14000 University Boulevard.
