In its traditional holiday spirit, Fort Bend ISD will host its annual Messiah Concert on Thursday, December 5, beginning at 7:00 p.m., in the Elkins High School Auditorium, 7007 Knights Court, Missouri City
The concert has been moved from its previously scheduled venue, Clements High School, due to a power outage in the auditorium that will not be fully repaired in time for the concert.
FBISD parents and patrons are invited to come and experience the high caliber of FBISD’s combined chorus, formed of students from all 11 FBISD high schools, as they present selections from George Frederick Handel’s oratorio, The Messiah.
Guest Conductor for the event is Mike Ware, Director of Music and Fine Arts, First Methodist Houston. Ware has directed choirs during performances at the Kennedy Center, Constitution Hall, Carnegie Hall, twice for the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) convention.
FBISD choral students who auditioned for parts will perform as soloists, and the Clements High School Orchestra, directed by Ginger Wolfe, will accompany the choral group. Admission is free and the entire community is invited to attend this spectacular evening of musical pleasure.
