Fort Bend ISD named Mary Prine, counselor at Austin Parkway Elementary School, as the Professional Employee of the Month for February; and Sylvia Gonzalez, administrative assistant in the Curriculum Department, as the Auxiliary Employee of the Month for February.
Mary Prine is referred to as the “unsung hero” on her campus. Not only does she complete her work with the highest standards, but she is also known for mentoring others and going the extra mile to meet the needs of students, parents, and employees. She also gives freely of her personal time, volunteering in various charitable causes and service projects. Her remarkable attitude and giving heart has earned her the respect and admiration of many, including her co-workers and the Employee of the Month Committee.
Sylvia Gonzalez is known for her determination and patience. She currently works for three coordinators and has to multi-task in order to fill requests and meet deadlines set by each of them. She works diligently each day, going above and beyond her duties to ensure that projects run smoothly and that the needs of her “customers” are met. She also promotes a positive, service-oriented work environment that is inviting to all. It is her dedication and diligence in performing her job that has earned her the recognition of her colleagues as well as the Employee of the Month Committee.
