“Taking Action Together” will be the theme of FBISD’s Bullying Awareness Week, which will be observed October 8-12. Sponsorerd by FBISD’s Safe and Drug Free Schools Department (SDFSD), Bullying Awareness Week is held during National Bullying Prevention Month and was created to educate all members of the FBISD community about bullying and encourage everyone to speak up and report incidents. The goal is to create a climate where all people are cared for and respected.
There will be suggested activities provided by the SDFSD, as well as campus-created events to share with the students. Each day will highlight a topic related to the issue of bullying. Universal codes of behavior related to bullying will be shared, a pledge will be signed, and short video clips will be available.
Students are encouraged to wear purple on one day of the week and perform an act of kindness for another person.
