The Fort Bend Junior Service League (FBJSL) was pleased to present a $3,000 Community Assistance Fund (CAF) grant to Fort Bend Regional Council on Substance Abuse (FBRC). FBRC provides families and individuals with substance abuse prevention services, education, and treatment needed to facilitate positive change for themselves and the community.
FBJSL is honored to partner with FBRC through the donation of funds to support its High School Leadership (HSL) Camp. The HSL intensive, five-day camp experience targets youth between the ages of 15 and 18 who show leadership potential but have not yet had an opportunity to practice these skills or develop these character traits. HSL participants not only learn about their community, but also meet the people who are committed to helping them become community volunteers and leaders, today or in the future. The HSL program’s goals include community awareness, leadership development, and the ability to positively motivate others.
FBJSL accepts CAF applications throughout the year for grant funding up to $5,000 per year. Applicants must be non-profit organizations serving Fort Bend County with requests to fund a critical need, a pilot program and/or expand a significant service to the community.
