Over recent months several Fort Bend Subway sandwich shops have been robbed. It started in Sugar Land, has reoccurred in Sugar Land and has now moved to Stafford and Missouri City. The “Star” reported on what appeared to be the first in this season’s reoccurring robbery jaunts.
The Sugar Land Subway in the 3500 block of Highway 6 was robbed in May, followed by a store robbery in Missouri City, then a Subway in Stafford on Dulles and then just days ago, again at the Sugar Land store on Highway 6. One report indicated that this store has been the target of robbers over four times in the last several years.
In each of the cases the store has been robbed by men with guns demanding access to the safe; then ordering the staff to the cooler. None of the cases have resulted in much bounty according to authorities. Neither have any of the cases appeared to warrant closer police presence in the area for shoppers nor has the commercial district erected surveillance cameras for the safety of the shopping public.
To date the robberies have never resulted in physical injuries. Some of the robberies have been committed by a single individual and others by a duo. Anyone with information on any of these cases is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 281-342-TIPS.
