Representatives from Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions will conduct free practice ACT®-test sessions at two branches of Fort Bend County Libraries – the Sienna Branch Library and the Sugar Land Branch Library — on Saturday, January 11, from 10:00 am to 2:15 pm, in the Meeting Rooms of the libraries.
Students will take a full-length practice ACT test to gain experience and become better prepared for the actual test. The test takes just over 4 hours, including administration instructions and breaks. Actual testing time is 2 hours and 55 minutes. Students are encouraged to bring two #2 pencils and a non-graphing calculator.
Used by U.S. colleges to determine admissions and to award scholarships and grants, the ACT® test assesses high school students’ general educational development and their ability to complete college-level work. The multiple-choice test covers five skill areas: English, mathematics, reading, science, and writing.
The sessions are free, but seating is limited and reservations are required. To register online at the library’s website (www.fortbend.lib.tx.us), click on “Calendar,” select the library, and find the program. Participants may also register by calling the Sienna Branch Library (281-238-2900) or the Sugar Land Branch Library (281-238-2140), or by visiting the libraries.
The Sienna Branch Library is located at 8411 Sienna Springs Blvd in Missouri City, and the Sugar Land Branch Library is located at 550 Eldridge.
