Representatives from Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions will conduct a free practice SAT test at Fort Bend County Libraries’ Sienna Branch Library and First Colony Branch Library, on Saturday, February 18, from 10:00 am to 2:15 pm. A follow-up strategy session will take place on Saturday, February 25, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, at each of the libraries.
Students will take the practice test during the first session, and will review their scores and learn strategy tips to increase their future scores at the second session. The SAT is used by U.S. colleges to determine admissions and to award scholarships and grants. The test is three hours and 45 minutes long, and consists of three sections – Critical Reading, Writing, and Math. Students should bring two #2 pencils, and they may also bring a non-graphing calculator.
The sessions are free, but seating is limited and reservations are required. To register online at the library’s website (www.fortbend.lib.tx.us), click on “Calendar,” select the library, and find the program. Participants may also register by calling the Sienna Branch Library at 281-238-2900, the First Colony Branch Library at 281-238-2800, or by visiting the libraries.
The Sienna Branch Library is located at 8411 Sienna Springs Blvd in Missouri City, and the First Colony Branch Library is located at 2121 Austin Parkway in Sugar Land.
