Avid readers who want to spend hot summer days relaxing indoors with a good book will find a large selection at the Friends of Sienna Branch Library Book Sale July 18-20, at the Sienna Library, 8411 Sienna Springs Blvd., Missouri City.
“We received a huge donation of over 700 books gathered over many years from a family that was downsizing,” states Book Sale chairman Bob Bjercke. “Readers, especially those that like mysteries and suspense, will be able to find plenty of books, including a few that have been out of print for a while. Most of our books are only $.50- 1.00 although some special items such as autographed books and older editions are slightly higher.”
The Sale, which includes thousands of gently used books for both children and adults, as well as CDs and DVDs, provides funding for both children’s and adult programs at the Library. During the past few months the Friends have approved funds for the Read Across America salute to Dr. Seuss, Nooks for 0-10 year olds which are preloaded with award-winning books, an adult genealogy program, and the Summer Reading Program as well as Movie Nights at the Library and the Teddy Bear Picnic.
Times for the sale are Thursday, July 18, 6-8 p.m., Friday, July 19, 10:00 a.m.-4 p.m., and Saturday, July 20, 10:00 a.m.-2 p.m.
The Friends group always welcomes new members who are interested in supporting the Library as well as donations for future sales. For more information contact email@example.com.
