Three Fort Bend ISD schools advanced to the boys’ basketball regional quarterfinals.
In 6-A, Bush beat Westside 53-41 and improved their record to 27-4.
“It wasn’t one of our best games,” Bush’s Bryson Etienne said. “When we picked up our defensive intensity, our offense came to us.”
Bush was to play Cinco Ranch on Tuesday, Feb. 28.
In 5-A, Marshall beat Humble 76-54.
“We started off a bit slow but we picked it up after halftime,” Marshall’s Jabari Rice said. “In the fourth quarter, we started playing as a team and we finished strong.”
“It was a total team effort, Marshall Coach Gary Nichols said. “We are so proud of the players and look forward to playing in the third round of the playoffs against Port Arthur Memorial.”
Marshall’s record is now 29-7. Marshall was to play Port Arthur Memorial Tuesday night.
Elkins beat Beaumont Central 80-72, improving their record to 25-7. They were to play district foe Manvel on Tuesday night.
Travis lost to Cypress Falls, 72-67 to finish their season at 25-9.
The regional semi-finals will be played on Thursday March 2, and the regional finals on Saturday March 4, at Delmar Fieldhouse.
