Would you like to become more active and just have fun? If you’re not sure where to start, Fort Bend County Libraries will have demonstrations of fun, heart-pumping dance activities at the First Colony Branch Library, 2121 Austin Parkway in Sugar Land, in May.
The first demonstration, “Dance Club Cardio,” will take place on Tuesday, May 7, beginning at 6:30 pm, in the Meeting Room of the library. YMCA fitness instructor Cyndia Rodriquez will show how to incorporate music and dance into your exercise routine with fun, easy-to-follow dance moves that can be used with a variety of musical genres, including hip hop, disco, Latin, Bollywood, and more.
On Saturday, May 11, an “Introduction to Salsa” will begin at 3:00 pm, in the Meeting Room of the library. Denisea Woodard, artistic director with Twinkle Toes Dance Academy, will show basic salsa moves that can be used for a fun and energetic cardio-dance experience.
On Saturday, May 18, a “Caribbean Dancing” demonstration will begin at 3:00 pm, in the Meeting Room of the library. Woodard will return to introduce music and dance of the Caribbean Islands. Learn the dances of the region, while experiencing movement that will energize your mind, body, and spirit.
Those attending these programs may wish to wear comfortable clothes and bring a bottle of water.
