It’s back to school and back to scouting! Girls and adult volunteers are invited to attend the open registration for Girl Scouts in the Colony Creek Service Unit area. Rally events invite girls (school levels K-12) to learn about scouting for the 2012 – 2013 school year. On Monday, September 10, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM there will be two rally locations: First Colony Middle School (3225 Austin Parkway Sugar Land, TX 77479) and Dulles Middle School (500 Dulles Ave Sugar Land, TX 77478) for all grade levels.
Want to know more about scouting? Girls, parents and/guardians can learn more about the benefits of scouting, how girls join a troop, how adult leaders (moms, aunts, grandmas, even dads too) get involved, and will invite rookie and experienced leaders to answer questions and share ideas for getting started.
Colony Creek Service Unit supports students from the following schools: Austin Parkway Elementary, Colony Bend Elementary, Colony Meadows Elementary, Cornerstone Elementary, Commonwealth Elementary, Dulles Elementary, Highlands Elementary, Lexington Creek Elementary, Meadows Elementary and Settlers Way Elementary; for 6th – 8th grade: First Colony Middle School, Fort Settlement Middle School and Dulles Middle School; and 9th – 12th grade: Clements High School and Dulles High School. Also included are local private schools, homeschooled girls, and those who live in the area but go to school elsewhere. If residing outside of the Colony Creek area, you can come by for assistance in joining/starting a troop.
More than cookies and camping, through programs that include science and technology, business and economic literacy, visual arts as well as outdoor and environmental awareness, Girl Scouts discover themselves, connect with others and take action to make the world a better place.
