Governor appoints Sugar Land woman to State Board of Acupuncture Examiners

Gov. Greg Abbott appointed Dr. Daniel “Dan” Brudnak and Peggy Lewene “Lew” Vassberg and reappointed Suehing “Sue” Chiang to the Texas State Board of Acupuncture Examiners for terms set to expire on Jan. 31, 2021.

The board has licensing, examination and rulemaking responsibilities in the field of acupuncture.

Sue Chiang of Sugar Land is a retired elementary school teacher of 30 years for the Fort Bend Independent School District and the Houston Independent School District. She is a former appointee of the Governor’s Commission for Women.

Chiang is member of the Fort Bend ISD Education Foundation Board of Directors, member of the Sugar Land Multi-Cultural Committee, and vice chairman of the Houston Methodist Sugar Land Board of Trustees.

Additionally, she is a community volunteer for the Fort Bend Women’s Shelter. She is also a former board member of the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce and Sugar Land Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. Chiang received a bachelor of science in elementary education from the University of Houston.

Dr. Dan Brudnak of Gorman is a private practice family medicine and acupuncture physician. Lew Vassberg of Lyford is president of Valley Designs, Inc.
