Historic Richmond Association’s annual membership drive is in full swing, and those interested are invited to the Wednesday, August 21 meeting, held at the Italian Maid, 300 Morton Street, downtown Richmond, 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
“We are actively recruiting new members! We hope many people from our community and county will attend the August meeting, which will include a time of networking prior to being introduced to all Historic Richmond Association does,” said Lanie Alveraz, co-owner Italian Maid and vice president, Historic Richmond Association.
According to Alvarez, many people who live in the area or in a neighboring city or town have not visited downtown Richmond before, even though it is the county seat and has a very long history.
“We’d like to introduce county residents to all Historic Richmond and all it has to offer from shops, the museum, eateries, and more. We also hope they will join HRA and be part of all that we do,” Alvarez said.
At the August meeting, discussions will focus on revitalization efforts that are already underway, and new initiatives that are just getting started.
“We will also be talking about events that we have planned to introduce people to our great little town,” Alvarez said.
The mission of Historic Richmond Association is to support local businesses and the community through Historic preservation, community improvement and the promotion of the City of Richmond, Fort Bend County, Texas.
“Again, we hope to see the community at our August monthly meeting. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres will be provided by HRA, and beer and wine will be available for purchase. We start on time and end on time, which most appreciate. Again, hope to see you at the meeting,” Alvarez said.
