Members of the Hodges Bend Middle School Future Chiefs Boys Club celebrated their mothers with a special dinner in the school’s library for Valentine’s Day. The club members planned every detail of the event, including the menu, decorations, gifts and spoken tributes.
Upon their arrival, the chiefs escorted their mothers to their tables, where they were seated and served a traditional Italian meal. The décor was beautifully done in shades of pink and red. As a special tribute, the club members presented their mothers with a single rose and shared reasons why their mothers are an important part of their lives. The mothers and sons also had their photos taken to commemorate the occasion.
Club sponsors Silas Garcia and Michael Tufariello both agreed that “the boys were perfect gentlemen throughout the entire evening.” They plan to make the dinner an annual event.
The Future Chiefs Club members are boys in grades 6-8 who focus on making positive choices and decisions in life. Members address subjects such as leadership, peer pressure, the importance of education, and community service, but also enjoy playing sports and computer games together.
The Future Chiefs would like to thank the Olive Garden and Hodges Bend Middle School staff members for their financial donations and contributions of food items and beverages.
