Sugar Land Animal Services is offering a series of holiday promotions to help find forever homes for animals available for adoption.
An animal angel tree, special adoption fees and help from Santa continues through the month of December.
The “Santa Special” adoption fee of $40 is available on select cats during December. Animal Services hopes this special rate will bring the gift of a new home to the cats that were recently showcased at a Mega Adoption event.
The Sugar Land Animal Services’ Angel Christmas tree is decorated with animal ornaments representing wishful pets in search of a new home. As the cats and dogs on the tree get adopted, their ornaments are removed from the tree.
“Our goal is to grant the wish of a forever home for all our animals on our Christmas tree,” said Animal Service Manager Kathryn Ketchum. “We would like to see an empty angel tree by Christmas.”
Sugar Land Animal Services brings more holiday spirit to the shelter by letting Santa and his elves help deliver adopted pets to their new homes on Christmas Eve. Santa will personally deliver new cats or dogs to the homes of those who live within Sugar Land’s city limits. This special service will only be available on Christmas Eve between the hours of 3-5 p.m. Time slots for delivery are limited, so residents are encouraged to reserve their Santa delivery as soon as possible.
“We are trying to get into the holiday spirit and increase the chances of our animals finding a home for the holidays,” said Ketchum. “After all, what better gift could there be?”
Animal Services asks that citizens take advantage of holiday promotions and grant the holiday wish of a special cat or do by giving the gift of a forever home. Visit Sugar Land Animal Services online or find them on Facebook for updates on adoptions, news and special events.
