Sunday night, May 26, approximately 11:00 p.m., Rosenberg police were inundated with calls of shots being fired in the 400 block of Blume Road, said police spokesman, Lt. Brian Baker. He said when officers arrived on the scene they discovered Alejandro Arrona, 19, of Rosenberg, had attempted to break into the home and was shot multiple times in the process.
Baker said Arrona was confronted by the homeowner and Arrona allegedly pointed the gun at the homeowner who was also armed with a gun. That face-off was followed by the homeowner shooting Arrona multiple times. Homeowner 1; home invader 0. Arrona was transported by Life Flight with non-life threatening injuries.
On Monday, Arrona was released from the hospital to Rosenberg Police with injuries to his shoulder and leg.
Arrona is in the Fort Bend County jail facing charges of Aggravated Robbery, Attempted Burglary of Habitation, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, said Baker.
The homeowner was not injured in the incident and is not facing any charges. The case will be referred to the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office.
