Thanks to one of the largest individual donation’s made in the history of the Fort Bend YMCA’s Partners Campaign, the YMCA’s 2012 campaign goal has been met and exceeded. In a recent visit with Bo Huggins, Houston Distributing President/CEO, Mr. Huggins announced that he and his wife, Amy, and their family would be pledging $50,000 to the 2012 Fort Bend YMCA Partners Campaign.
Mr. and Mrs. Huggins specifically requested that the funds be used to support the Fort Bend YMCA’s outreach programming in Four Corners and Fresno, Texas. “Bo and Amy Huggins are one of the most generous individuals that I have had the pleasure of knowing and they are passionate about making sure that their kids understand the need to give back to the community as well,” stated Mike Flory, YMCA Board Member.
With the addition of the Huggins Family gift, and the recent successful YMCA Golf Classic, the Fort Bend Family YMCA has officially met and exceeded their $275,000 Partners Campaign goal for 2012. “We are extremely pleased with the results of this year’s golf tournament and the support that we have received from area businesses, foundations and individuals like the Huggins Family,” stated Derrick Cyprian, 2012 Y Partners Campaign Chair.
This year’s Kick Off was sponsored by the Safari Texas Ranch in Richmond and included the other two Fort Bend County YMCAs, T.W. Davis and Katy. During the campaign, over 150 volunteers across Fort Bend County solicited pledges and support to the YMCA’s Partners Campaign. “One hundred percent of the donations to the Partners Campaign go directly to program and membership scholarships as well as subsidizing YMCA Outreach initiatives,” stated Charlie Myer, YMCA Regional Advancement Officer.
