The Animal Service Agencies of Fort Bend County are announcing the “Hunting for Homes” Mega Adoption Event planned for Saturday, November 5, at the Fort Bend County Fairgrounds from 10:00am-6:00pm. The purpose of the event is to not only find homes for available cats and dogs, but to also show the positive and rewarding aspects of adopting a shelter animal.
This event will bring adoptable cats and dogs from the Animal Service Agencies of Sugar Land, Rosenberg, Missouri City, Stafford and Fort Bend County. Adoption for all animals is $30. This fee includes a wellness check, spaying or neutering, initial vaccinations, and micro-chipping. Senior citizens can adopt a pet for a discounted $15.
Currently they are in need of pet “foster families.” These families will keep the pet after they have been vetted, up until the event on November 5. The breed and size of the dog and/or cat would be at the Foster’s discretion, the pet will be fully vetted, food and litter will be provided to assist in cost of fostering.
To help make the event successful the agencies are asking for both monetary and supply donations. Supplies needed include large wire pet crates (at least 36×24 inches), flea medication (Frontline or Advantage brands), and cleaning supplies. Monetary donations can be made by sending a check to Fort Bend County Animal Services, 1210 Blume Road, Rosenberg, TX 77471.
Please make checks payable to Fort Bend County, and include “Hunting for Homes” in the memo line. Monetary donations will be used to pay for the microchipping and spaying or neutering of all pets.
