The Adult Services staff at Fort Bend County Libraries’ Sienna Branch Library, 8411 Sienna Springs Blvd in Missouri City, will present a variety of free, introductory computer classes this month. The classes will consist of a hands-on introduction to basic skills for people who would like to learn more about using these computer programs.
The “MS PowerPoint Survival Basics” class for version 2010 will take place on Wednesday, September 4, beginning at 10:00 am, in the Computer Lab.
“Introduction to Digital Storytelling” will take place on Tuesday, September 10, beginning at 10:00 am, in the Computer Lab. Learn how to create a digital multimedia story with the free online tools. Get tips on using photos, special effects, soundtrack music, text, and your own voice narration to create a digital story presentation that can be published on the web. Those attending the class are encouraged to have either a working Google account or a USB flash drive on which to save their digital story.
The “MS PowerPoint: Intermediate” class for version 2010 will take place on Wednesday, September 11, beginning at 10:00 am, in the Computer Lab.
“Microsoft Office Sampler Session” for version 2010 will take place on Tuesday,
September 17, beginning at 6:00 pm, in the Computer Lab. Learn more about this multi-program suite of software, which includes Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint, and how it can be used in the home and office.
The classes are free and open to the public. Seating is limited, however, and reservations are required.
