The Adult Services staff at Fort Bend County Libraries’ Sienna Branch Library, 8411 Sienna Springs Blvd in Missouri City, will present a variety of free, introductory computer classes this month. The classes will consist of a hands-on introduction to basic skills for people who would like to learn more about using these computer programs.
“MS PowerPoint Survival Basics” for version 2007 will take place on Wednesday, December 5, beginning at 10:00 am, in the Computer Lab.
“Set Up Your Own Website for Free” will take place on Thursday, December 6, beginning at 10:00 am, in the Computer Lab. Learn how to use Google Sites to create and publish a customized website for free. Those attending the class should bring a USB flash drive with any .jpg files to be used and should have a working Google account.
“MS PowerPoint: Intermediate,” for version 2007, will take place on Wednesday, December 12, beginning at 10:00 am, in the Computer Lab. Learn how to use more advanced features of this slide-show program to create enhanced presentations.
“Basics in Digital Photo Editing” will take place on Wednesday, December 19, beginning at 10:00 am, in the Computer Lab. This class will feature an overview of downloading and organizing pictures from a digital camera. Learn how to use Microsoft Photo Editor to resize photographs, remove red-eye, crop, and otherwise customize graphic images. Those attending the class may choose to bring a photo, saved on a USB flash drive, on which to practice editing.
The classes are free and open to the public. Seating is limited, however, and reservations are required.
