The Adult Services staff at Fort Bend County Libraries’ University Branch Library, 14010 University Blvd in Sugar Land on the UH campus, will present introductory technology classes this month on using Microsoft Word, Microsoft SkyDrive®, eBooks, and Windows 8. The classes will consist of a hands-on introduction to basic skills for people who would like to learn more about using these technology tools.
“Introduction to Windows 8” will take place on Wednesday, June 5, beginning at 2:00 pm, in the Computer Lab. This class will provide an introduction to Windows 8, Microsoft’s newest operating system. PLEASE NOTE that the library does not have Windows 8 installed on its computers.
“Shift Into OverDrive” will take place on Wednesday, June 12, beginning at 2:00 pm, in the Computer Lab. Learn how to download eBooks from the library’s digital collection, OverDrive.
“Introduction to Microsoft SkyDrive®” will take place on Wednesday, June 26, beginning at 2:00 pm, in the Computer Lab. Learn how to use Microsoft SkyDrive to create and save MS Word documents, MS Excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations in the cloud.
“MS Word Survival Basics” for version 2010 will take place on Thursday, June 27, beginning at 2:00 pm, in the Computer Lab.
The classes are free and open to the public. Seating is limited, however, and reservations are required.
