Fort Bend County Libraries will present introductory classes on two popular social-networking websites – Pinterest and Facebook – in December. The classes will take place in the Computer Lab at the Sienna Branch Library, 8411 Sienna Springs in Missouri City.
The Pinterest class will take place on Tuesday, December 11, beginning at 10:00 am, in the Computer Lab. Learn all about the new virtual pinboard that has taken the social-media population by storm. Pinterest enables people to organize and share items of interest to them that they have found on the Internet. Pinboards can be used to collect ideas for anything from planning weddings or decorating homes to organizing favorite recipes, and much more.
The Facebook class will take place on Thursday, December 20, beginning at 10:00 am, in the Computer Lab. Learn how to set up a Facebook account, search for friends, make “friend requests,” and write wall posts on this popular social-networking website. Those attending will also learn how to use the new Facebook settings, including the “timeline” format.
Participants in these classes should have a working email address and password.
The classes are free and open to the public. Seating is limited, however, and reservations are required. To register online at the library’s website (www.fortbend.lib.tx.us), click on “Calendar,” select “Sienna Branch,” and find the program. Participants may also register by calling the library at 281-238-2952, or by visiting the library.
