January is National Mentoring Month, and Fort Bend ISD joins school districts across the country in saluting the individuals who serve as mentors in our schools. Mentors support the academic, social and emotional needs of students, while helping to improve students’ self-confidence and attitude to learning.
Fort Bend ISD currently has approximately 180 trained, active mentors who meet with students from all grade levels once a week during the school day. Our mentors are parents, business representatives, and other members of the community and area organizations who are genuinely interested in supporting students.
If you are interested in becoming a FBISD mentor, visit the Fort Bend ISD website at www.fortbendisd.com or call the Volunteers & Partnerships office at 281-634-1109.
