Judge Clapp appointed to Truancy disqualification hearing

Randy Clapp, Judge of the 329th Judicial District Court, has been assigned to hear the disqualification of Judge Brady Elliott in the 268th Judicial District Court, because Elliott has been named as a defendant in a civil case regarding Truancy.

Attorney Deron Harrington of Sienna Plantation filed a non-monetary, class action civil lawsuit with the 268th District Court, requesting that the court look into several county and Fort Bend ISD employees who he believes may have violated the law with regards to the Fort Bend Truancy Court.

It also asks for the recusal of any Fort Bend District Judge acting in their capacity as a magistrate.

The plaintiffs have also dropped defendants – FBISD Superintendent Dr. Charles Dupre, Fort Bend District Attorney John Healey, Fort Bend Assistant District Attorney Woody McAndrew and FBISD Police Officer Rafael Rincon from the case.
