David Alexander (Alex) Vigil, 18, of Katy, was arrested Thursday by Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office detectives after an investigation into the outcry of an elementary school aged child. Sheriff’s spokesperson Bob Haenel said, “the case came to light when a family member told the victim’s mother that Vigil’s name appeared on a Katy-area website regarding an aggravated sexual assault of a child charge he is facing in Travis County”.
According to Haenel, that report prompted the mother to question the child, who told her Vigil had fondled him repeatedly over almost a year’s time while visiting at his father‘s home. Haenel went on to say, “Vigil was arrested last month by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant issued by Travis County Sheriff’s Office.”
Reportedly, Vigil posted bail in Travis County where is accused of sexually assaulting another young male child.
Fort Bend detectives are still actively investigating four other cases of outcries of potential victims that may have connections to Alex Vigil. The charges expected to be filed range from indecency with a child to aggravated sexual assault of a child.
