Teen arrested after holding up a Katy area convenience store at gunpoint.
Last Friday evening, about 9:45 p.m., 17 year old Collin Anderson of Katy walked into the Shell gas station and convenience store in the 21900 block of Westheimer Parkway with a mask obscuring his face and a pistol in his hand demanding cash from the store clerk. According to Sheriff’s spokesman Bob Haenel, the clerk complied and Anderson fled the store.
While one deputy was at the store gathering information, another was searching the immediate area. The deputy patrolling near the store was flagged down by two men who told him they had seen a man matching the description of the suspect nearby. Continuing to patrol the area, the deputy saw a vehicle matching the description of the suspect’s with two men inside, then he watched as that car pulled over and a man matching the description of the store robbery suspect get in, said Haenel.
A traffic stop was made on Falcon Point Boulevard and Collin Anderson was arrested. He was still in possession of the pistol he used to rob the store. His two associates who were also in the car were not charged.
