Did you know that a typical high school band’s fall season costs about $30,000? The band receives very little financial support from the district and must raise the money to cover the expenses. Things that the band has to pay for are royalties for the music they perform at half-time, arrangement of that music, props and flags in the performances, and transportation of instruments and equipment to name a few.
The Katy High School Marching Band is coming to Old Katy with their annual Roar Tour on Saturday, August 24. What is the Roar Tour? It is the Roarin’ Band from Tigerland marching and performing the Top Ten fan favorite songs. To help them reach our fundraising goal, the band will perform one song from the top ten list for $100, or 3 songs for $250. More songs can be purchased. Just ask. The Katy Band is hoping to reach their Roar Tour donation goal of $15,000 to go towards their marching season expenses.
Look for the route on the Katy Band website at www.katyhsband.com. Donations can also be made on the website.
