Kids for Kindness hosts Country Hoe-down

February 20, 2013 by FortBendStar

January Kids for Kindness Hoe-Down – Front Row:  Olivia Chaveleh, Erica Phelan, Avery Wheat, Nicole Neitz, & Alexandra Champion; Middle Row:  Caleb Garza, Marisa Mueller, Mikayla Sutton, Erica Silva, Cheryl Angell, Caitlin Wilson, Christie Koerth, & Madison Jones; Back Row:  Michelle Koerth, Principal; Matthew Comeaux, Kene Okoye, Joseph Cotlar, Eric Krush, Katcher Halligan, Matthias Konrad, & Suzanne Stavinoha, Counselor.

Students came to school in their western wear all for a good cause.  Boys and girls came in toe with white t-shirts and blue jeans as their donation to enter the Hoe-Down.  All donations were sent to LCISD’s Common Threads.  We collected 8 extra-large trash bags full.

Kids entered the gymnasium with western theme rodeo games to play included:  rope a cow, sack races, & western four corners.  Participants joined in the fun with the Cotton-Eyed Joe and line dancing.

Common Threads Hoe-Down – Front Row:  Olivia Chaveleh & Christie Koerth; Middle Row:  Nicole Neitz, Mikayla Sutton, Marisa Mueller, Jill Duban, Common Threads; Ashley Johnson, & Avery Wheat; Back Row:  Michelle Koerth, Principal; and the Texas ATM University Aggie Wranglers.

A very special performance by the Texas ATM Aggie Wranglers was enjoyed by all- young and old.  The Aggie Wranglers are a  country and western exhibition dance team.  They were greeted with a down home country welcome by the Campbell Cougars.
