Students from Foster, Lamar Consolidated Terry high schools demonstrated job hunting skills at the First Annual “On The Hunt” Job Search Seminar held at LCHS. The day began with the first impressions made when approaching a potential employer, ended with the interview follow-up and covered everything in between.
“On the Hunt” was designed for students enrolled in either the Career Preparation or Practicum in Marketing Dynamics programs in LCISD. In an effort to increase the rigor and relevance in the classroom, Career and Technical Education, or CTE, formerly known as vocational education or co-op, is geared toward industry certifications and preparing students to compete in today’s workforce.
Now more than ever, the support of area businesses is paramount in the success of these programs. Of the 138 LCISD students enrolled in the program, approximately 20 percent of these students are still “On The Hunt” for a job.
