Learn about apps and eBooks at Sienna Branch Library

January 2, 2013 by FortBendStar

You’ve entered the world of Apple® iPads®, and now you’re ready to explore the world of apps! Fort Bend County Libraries will present an introductory class, “Apple-licious Apps & Free eBooks on Your iPad,” on Thursday, January 10, beginning at 10:00 am, in the Computer Lab, at the Sienna Branch Library, 8411 Sienna Springs in Missouri City.

Learn about the free or low-cost apps (applications) that can be downloaded to iPhones®, iTouches®, or iPads®. The apps are available in a variety of categories, such as Health and Fitness, Business, Finance, Sports, Travel, Food and Drink, Entertainment, Games, Education, News, and much more. Find out how you can stay on top of world affairs, manage your finances, get the latest sports scores, find a movie time at a theater or a place to eat, or simply relax with a game or a book – all conveniently available on your mobile device!

Those attending the class will also learn how to download free eBooks from the library’s OverDrive digital collection onto Apple® mobile digital devices. Please bring your library card and PIN, Apple® device, and iTunes® account information.

The class is free and open to the public. Seating is limited, however, and reservations are required. To register online at the library’s website (www.fortbend.lib.tx.us), click on “Calendar,” select “Sienna Branch,” and find the program. Participants may also register by calling the library at 281-238-2952, or by visiting the library.
