Deputy Gerard Argao, an officer with the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Crime Prevention Unit, will discuss Internet Safety Tips for Parents, at University Branch Library on Wednesday, July 24, beginning at 2:00 pm, in the Computer Lab of the library, located at 14010 University Blvd in Sugar Land, on the UH campus.
The Internet can be a source of information and entertainment, but users should be aware of possible dangers and be vigilant for online predators. Deputy Argao will address safety issues of which parents should be aware, so that they may ensure that their children may enjoy safe, enjoyable, and productive use of the Internet and its resources. He will discuss the positive uses of social networking websites, as well as the risks involved with unsupervised use of these sites.
