Learn how to download eBooks at libraries

Did you get a new Kindle or Nook™, but you’re not sure how to use it? Fort Bend County Libraries will present introductory programs on downloading audiobooks and eBooks to eReaders at several locations in April. Learn how to browse, access, and download electronic books from the library’s online digital library collection, OverDrive. Those attending the classes should bring their mobile device, library-card number, and PIN.

“Ease Into eBooks” will take place on Monday, April 8, beginning at 6:30 pm, at the Mamie George Branch Library, 320 Dulles Avenue in Stafford. Learn how to download eBooks to Kindles, Nooks, smartphones, or iPads®. Seating is limited, and reservations are required. To register online at the library’s website (www.fortbend.lib.tx.us), click on “Calendar,” select “Mamie George/Stafford,” and find the program. Participants may also register by calling the library at 281-238-2880, or by visiting the library.

“Krazy About Kindles” will take place on Wednesday, April 10, beginning at 10:00 am, in the Computer Lab at the Cinco Ranch Branch Library, 2620 Commercial Center Blvd in Katy. Learn how to download eBooks to Kindles. Reservations are not required for this class.

“Basics of Downloading eBooks” will take place on Tuesday, April 23, beginning at 10:15 am, in the Conference Room at the First Colony Branch Library, 2121 Austin Parkway in Sugar Land. Learn how to download audiobooks and eBooks to a variety of mobile digital devices. Seating is limited, and reservations are required. To register online at the library’s website (www.fortbend.lib.tx.us), click on “Calendar,” select “First Colony Branch Library,” and find the program. Participants may also register by calling the library at 281-238-2800, or by visiting the library.
