Do you have a new Kindle or Nook, but you’re not sure how to use it? Fort Bend County Libraries will present introductory programs this month on downloading e-books to Kindles and Nook e-reader devices. Learn how easy it is to download free eBooks to your e-reader device from the library’s online digital library collection, OverDrive.
“Shift Into OverDrive with Kindles” will take place on Tuesday, January 8, beginning at 10:00 am, in the Computer Lab at the Sienna Branch Library, 8411 Sienna Springs Blvd in Missouri City. Learn how to download e-books to Kindles. This program will be repeated on Thursday, January 24, beginning at 10:15 am, at the First Colony Branch Library, 2121 Austin Parkway in Sugar Land.
“Krazy About Kindles” will take place on Monday, January 14, beginning at 6:30 pm, at the Mamie George Branch Library, 320 Dulles Avenue in Stafford. Library staff will also explain how the Amazon Cloud works as a place to store eBooks, music, videos, and much more.
“Shift Into OverDrive with Nooks” will take place on Thursday, January 17, beginning at 10:00 am, in the Computer Lab at the Sienna Branch Library. Learn how to download e-books to Nook Color, Nook Tablet, Nook HD, or Nook HD+.
Those attending these classes should bring their e-reader device, their library card, and library PIN to the class with them.
The classes are free and open to the public. Seating is limited, however, and reservations are required.
