El Día de los Niños/El Día de los Libros – Day of the Children/Day of the Books – is a special day set aside to recognize the importance of literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds. Fort Bend County Libraries will celebrate this special event on Saturday, April 28, with Story Time programs for the whole family at two of the branch libraries.
The University Branch Library, 14010 University Blvd. in Sugar Land, will present a multilingual Story Time (English, Urdu, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish) for the whole family from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon.
The First Colony Branch Library, 2121 Austin Parkway in Sugar Land, will celebrate with a bilingual “Cuentacuentos,” (English and Spanish) from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, in the Meeting Room of the library.
On Monday, April 30, enjoy Latin American folktales at the Sienna Branch Library’s “El Día de Los Niños Story Time” from 4:00 to 5:30 pm, in the Small Meeting Room of the library, located at 8411 Sienna Springs Blvd in Missouri City.
Library staff from the Youth Services departments will present stories, songs, and a craft. Bring the whole family for a celebration of the different cultures and of children’s books!
