Queen Theatre today announced their production of Little Women: The Musical, which will run December 2-18 at Sugar Land Auditorium, will be accompanied by a live 8-piece orchestra.
The orchestra, conducted by Stephen W. Jones, will feature trumpet, trombone, French horn, violin, bass, keyboard and percussion.
“Queen Theatre’s mission is to enrich Fort Bend County through the performing arts,” said Executive Director Erika Waldorf. “Combining a stage production with a live orchestral performance will really enhance the experience for the theatre-goer, creating an experience equivalent to anything you could see in Houston, without the commute. We hope families will make time to enjoy quality community theatre this holiday season.”
Little Women: The Musical brings to life Louisa May Alcott’s classic American novel chronicling the sisters of the March family – Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy. Local actresses Katie Harrison, Riley Branning, Pamela M. Moore and Jessica Griffin star as the March sisters. A complete cast list is available at www.queentheatre.org/#/meet-the-cast/.
In keeping with the spirit of giving during the holiday season, Sugar Land kindergartener Addie Doss will be at each of the Sunday matinee performances of Little Women as part of her campaign to raise money to fight cancer. “I believe that some people can help cancer,” says Addie, “and I’m one of them.” Visit www.queentheatre.org to watch a video of this remarkable little girl talking about her mission.
Little Women: The Musical will run from December 2 through December 18. Performances will be held on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., with matinees at 3 p.m. on Sundays. Visit www.queentheatre.org for ticketing information.
