Local Ace Hardware stores raise more than $385,000 for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals
Throughout 2015, the Greater Houston Ace Retailer Group (GHARG) helped raise funds to make miracles happen in Houston for Texas Children’s Hospital, its local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals) member.
Collectively, 33 Ace Hardware stores throughout Houston helped generate more than $385,000 for the local hospital, which was donated at Houston Shell Open by PGA Tour golfer and Ace spokesperson, Hunter Mahan.
Throughout the year, the GHARG participated in grill competitions, golf tournaments and bucket and candy bar sales to name just a few. One hundred percent of the funds raised through the campaigns remain local, benefitting Texas Children’s Hospital.
“The stores that make up the Greater Houston Ace Retailer Group are committed to being the helpful place in the Houston area, and part of that is our commitment to giving back to the community we serve,” said Rick Alspaugh, president of the GHARG. “We’re proud to help make miracles happen for children in need, while at the same time providing customers with fun opportunities and incentives for donation.”
Representatives from the GHARG, along with Mahan, presented a check to Texas Children’s Hospital during the Houston Shell Open on March 29.
Ace Hardware has been a proud supporter of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals since 1991. Thanks to the generosity of Ace customers, retailers, vendors and team members, together Ace has raised more than $70 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals across the country. Locally, the GHARG has raised nearly $1 million for Texas Children’s Hospital in the last five years.
