Kahn Truong believes that Alkaline Water – a high pH, antioxidant water – was able to solve what ailed him.
That included “joint pain, allergies, blood pressure and cholesterol.”
A friend told him about the low-acidic Alkaline Water, and he was skeptical at first, but he quickly came to trust it.
While normal drinking water has a pH balance of 7, Alkaline’s is 8 or 9.
“The pain started going away – the water is easier to absorb into your body,” Truong said. “I used to be sick a lot. Now, I don’t take any medication at all.”
The 51-year-old former automotive technician did some research and then two years ago, opened an Alkaline Water store at 13030 E. Bellaire Blvd., near the Fort Bend/Harris County line.
Truong calls Alkaline Water, “the best water on the planet” and regularly does demonstrations to prove his theories on the superiority of the water.
He even uses special equipment to advance reverse osmosis – at the store location – to convert the water into Alkaline. In order to make that happen, you must use four gallons of regular water to get a gallon of Alkaline.
He sells bottles of it to his customers. According to healthline.com, there is a debate within the medical community on Alkaline water, and potential customers should consult with their medical professionals beforehand.
Some research has backed the benefits of Alkaline Water such as a 2012 study that found Alkaline Water with a pH of 8.8 could deactivate pepsin – the main cause of acid reflux.
While a study in the Shanghai Journal of Preventive Medicine reached the conclusion that Alkaline Water can lower blood pressure, blood sugar and blood lipids.
