While the crowd-pleasing Swinging Door barbecue and lively dance music by the Triumphs will return for The Arc of Fort Bend County’s 33rd Annual Best in the West Dinner, Dance and Auction, there will be something new: The Ace in the Hole Auction with a “buy it now” option replaces the event’s traditional Bid Board.
“We’re offering our guests an opportunity to ‘buy it now’ for an item they really want to take home,” said Jo Ann Stevens, event co-chair. “When a bidder takes that option, the item is considered sold and there won’t be any more bidding on it.”
But when the “buy it now” option isn’t exercised, the Ace in the Hole Auction items will be up for silent auction bidding until the Live Auction closes. Then, Smith said, auctioneer Fort Bend County Commissioner James Patterson and emcee Michael Garfield, the High-Tech Texan®, will move to the Ace in the Hole Auction to close out sales there.
The always popular dinner, dance and auction returns to the George Ranch Historical Park Arena in Richmond this Nov. 19. The doors open at 6 p.m. and the Triumphs take the stage for a first set at 7 p.m. The Rosenberg-based band will return for a second set following the evening’s Live Auction and Ace in the Hole Auction closing.
