
Lt. Kevin Burleson, who just returned from a 10-week FBI training at Quantico, was the guest speaker at the Lakes of Brightwater neighborhood coffee meeting on October 8. As the Missouri City Police Department Liaison to Brightwater, Lieutenant Burleson discussed criminal activity in surrounding areas and provided prevention tips to encourage homeowners to be proactive.
He complimented Brightwater’s neighborhood crime watch noting that Brightwater as a model program. At an upcoming area event, Lieutenant Burleson mentioned there will be a “Stuff the Squad Car” collection of food for the needy at the Missouri City police station parking lot on November 17 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. In addition, on November 14, tips for holiday crime prevention will be given at the police station’s emergency dispatch center from 7 to 9 p.m.
The Lakes of Brightwater neighborhood coffee meetings are held on the second Monday of each month, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at the Brightwater recreation center. All neighbors are welcome and refreshments are served.
