Lucinda “Cindy” Kay Anderson, 61, of Richmond, Texas passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2016 in Sugar Land, Texas. She was born on October 1, 1954 in Sugar Land, Texas to Sally Mae (Garnoski) and James Williams Anderson, Jr. Cindy graduated from John Foster Dulles High School in 1973. After a few years of college, she dedicated over 30 years of service to the Department of Rehabilitative Services. She was a faithful member of Faith Lutheran Church in Sugar Land, Texas.

She will be remembered for her fond interest in crocheting and collecting Angels. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and a memory she always kept at heart was the time she spent with her mother assembling the Christmas Village.

Cindy will be dearly missed by those who loved her. In addition to her parents, Cindy is also preceded in death by her brother, William L. “Bo” Anderson. Survivors include her sister, Becky Engbrock and husband Ronald of Needville; sister-in-law, Wanda Anderson Oropeza and husband, Carlos of Nursery; aunts, Martha “Marte” Vickers of Sugar Land, and Evelyn Harris of Houston; nieces and nephews, Sherrie Zwahr and husband, Bobby, Jr., Melissa Murphy and husband Bobby, Amanda Anderson, and James Anderson; cousins, Randy Psencik and wife, Lynn of Churchill, Renee Yeager, Kathi Harris and husband, Gary Heintschel, and Mace Harris and wife, Paula; a host of extended family, friends, and special friends, Peggy and Arnold Avina. Visitation will be held from 5 pm to 7 pm, Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Faith Lutheran Church, 800 Brooks St., Sugar Land, Texas 77478. Burial will be held at 10:30 am, Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Davis-Greenlawn Cemetery, 3900 B F Terry Blvd., Rosenberg, TX 77471. Following the burial, a memorial service will be held at 11:30 am at Faith Lutheran Church in Sugar Land, Texas.

Refreshments will be served after the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, monetary memorials may be made in Cindy’s honor to Faith Lutheran Church, 800 Brooks St., Sugar Land, TX 77478.

The family wishes to thank all of the doctors and nurses at The Methodist Sugar Land Hospital for all of the care and help they provided during Cindy’s treatment.
