Rosenberg police are looking for a man who shot up a neighborhood after a dispute with an area resident.
Rosenberg police officer K. Kreusch heard several gunshots between 1st Street and 3rd Street in Rosenberg, Sunday afternoon on April 3. While he was searching the area, the dispatcher received a call indicating the gunshots came from the vicinity of the 1800 block of 3rd Street said Rosenberg assistant police chief Dallis Warren.
When officer Kreusch arrived on the scene on 3rd Street, several witnesses immediately identified the shooter as Phillip Devale Garner, a 24 year old Rosenberg resident. Witnesses told police that Garner had been involved in a dispute with a neighbor. Garner reportedly left, upset, and returned shortly thereafter with a shotgun.
Witnesses also told police when Garner returned, he fired several shotgun blasts around the neighborhood. Warren said, “ Phillip Garner fled the scene and has not been seen since.” At the time of the incident Garner was driving a white, older model, four door Buick sedan.
Garner’s last known address is at 4901 Greenwood, Rosenberg, Texas. A warrant has been issued and Garner is being charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, a second degree felony with a bond amount of $100,000 out of the 268th District Court in Fort Bend County.
Phillip Garner has convictions in his past for burglary, weapon charges, and is a registered sex offender for sexual assault of a child.
