The Home and Garden club objectives of Meadows Place are to support and educate the continued beatification of the homes and community. And for the past nineteen years the garden club has also provided scholarships for eligible residents of all ages who are planning to attend colleges or universities in the fall. Each year dedicated members of the garden club read through all of the entrants’ essays and select the winners.
Last year the Meadows Place Garden Club was able to give out three scholarships, however, this year they out did themselves with nine scholarships ranging in value from $500 to $1,000. What was the difference? Besides awesome donations from businesses and clubs, and the annual craft show, the garden club hosted, Improve! Don’t Move, home and garden tour featuring homes in their neighborhood that had been remodeled. This brainstorm of an idea was the tipping point that made this year’s scholarships reach new heights.
The following individuals were awarded scholarships by the Meadows Home and Garden Club for 2013: Shea Braund, Kaylyn Court, Gregory Hansen, Cody Kitchen, Uma Lad, Dakota Mills, Robin Myers, Aaron Wagner, and Taylor Wilkins.
