Back by popular demand, Historic Richmond Association will be hosting old timey trolley tours through Historic Richmond, during Miracle on Morton Street Festival, Dec. 1, noon – 7:00 p.m. on Morton Street in downtown Richmond.
“During Richmond’s 175th Birthday Celebration, the trolley tours and rides were one of the most popular activities, and the trolley stayed full all day. So during Miracle on Morton Street, the free trolley tours will return again,” said Rebecca Maitland, president, Historic Richmond Association.
The Fort Bend Museum will be hosting tours of landmarks throughout Richmond. So those on the trolley tours can stop along the way, tour a landmark and then get back on the trolley and go to the next stop for another tour, or stay on the trolley and return to Morton Street for more fun and food.
There will also be a large Kidz Zone with tons of fun for the little ones, as well as plenty of shopping, food, vendors, and fun for the whole family. There will also be all day entertainment.
“This is the 10th Annual Miracle on Morton Street, so we are looking forward to seeing the community out kicking off the Christmas Season. Morton Street will be filled with all of the sites and sounds of the holidays. There will be a handbell choir and kettle corn popping and so so much more, it will be a wonderful day for all. But most of all Santa will be there all day for photo ops and talking to kids,” Maitland said.
Opening ceremonies are at noon, and trolley rides begin a 1:00, street entertainment begins at 12:30.
“So grab the kids, friends and neighbors and come on down to Morton Street for a wonderful family tradition,” Maitland said.
