Farmers Market feature part of event

For the next six months, Missouri City will be the site of a community Show and Sell to be held the first and third Saturday of each month at Sorelli’s in the 2600 block of East Cartwright Road from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A farmer’s market feature will be part of the local craft and other goods offerings…somewhat along the lines of the first farmers market that took place at the same site in mid-November, where fresh produce reportedly sold out within 45 minutes.
Missouri City’s city council recently approved a special events permit for the Show and Sell. A part of the business’ patio will be where the sales will take place and food provided by a deli is the primary motivator for bringing the participants together that will help revitalize the area, said a city official. Given the response of what could be termed the “trial” farmers market, some believe the event will grow rapidly at which time city council will reconsider other requirements, including security, traffic control and other aspects of the operation.
