The Show Me City’s newest social media presence—an all-encompassing official City Facebook page, www.facebook.com/MissouriCityTX—has been launched. All residents are encouraged to login and “Like” us!
The news and events portal provides comprehensive coverage and updates on City services and programs while also highlighting successes and accomplishments. Additionally, Facebook offers residents and interested participants another outlet to directly connect with the City on issues that matter to them and will also afford them the ability to stay connected both on- and off-line.
“We are excited about launching this centralized information source for citizens and businesses,” said City Manager Edward Broussard. “In addition to news on public safety, infrastructure improvements, parks programs, economic development and the volunteers program, our new page features photos, a calendar of events, contests and promotions, and links to the City websites.”
Currently highlighted on the new page are details on Missouri City Night Out at Constellation Field on May 3, the 2013 State of the City on May 15, the latest FEMA rules affecting homeowner flood insurance rates, Police and Fire Department accomplishments, the emergency services cost recovery program and the tax relief tennis mixer.
Also, when you visit THEM on Facebook, don’t forget to chime in their “Name This Classy Cow” contest; the deadline to vote is May 24 at 5 p.m.
Due to the launch of the new page, individual department pages will no longer be active. In addition to the City Facebook page, residents can also find vital City updates on Twitter (@MissouriCityTX and @MissouriCityEM), YouTube, Missouri City Television (Ch. 16 on Comcast and Ch. 99 on AT&T U-verse), www.missouricitytx.gov and www.missouricityready.com.
