Missouri City is offering scholarships of up to $1,000 for low- to moderate-income residents enrolled in a community college, university or vocational program. The funds were made available through Community Development Block Grant funds received from the Department of Housing and Urban Development. The deadline for entry is May 31.
Applicants must write a one-page essay on their primary career and life goals, meet income requirements and provide verification of eligibility, including tax forms, proof of Missouri City residency, a high-school transcript and two letters of recommendation.
The scholarships are available to 2012 High School graduates.
