Missouri City resident James Hudson’s talent as a playwright will soon be featured. Hudson has been writing, directing and acting for 20 years, and will be showcasing what he calls his best play. Next week, on March 24, “A Family That Prays Together” will be performed in Houston at the Ensemble Theater.
Hudson, who is the executive producer of a drama group, James Hudson and Showtime Productions, plays for schools, churches, and local events using “the talents and gifts of everyday people” in his productions.
In Missouri City, residents know him for the Juneteenth historical re-enactments he directs at the site of the Freedom Tree at one of the city’s newest parks, Freedom Tree Park.
Hudson, celebrated for his community service also in conjunction with the cultural arts industry, has received a number of accolades for his work, including Channel 13’s Jefferson Award and having been selected as ‘Volunteer of The Year” from the Texas Department of Health and Human Services among several other accolades.
