On Dec. 21 Language Arts teachers from Morton Ranch Junior High (MRJH) delivered 416 toys, donated by students, to bring smiles to the faces of children and families fighting illnesses at Texas Children’s Hospital West Campus. The toys, which will be used for the common areas at the hospital, were collected during a week-long toy drive between Dec. 10 and Dec. 17.
The 7th graders at MRJH were introduced to “A Christmas Carol,” in their Language Arts classes. This short story highlights important themes including selflessness and charity.
As a way to implement these themes in real life, the teachers presented a plan to donate toys to Texas Children’s Hospital West Campus. Each class competed with one another to see who could solicit the most donations.
These toys will continue to help brighten the day of patients at the hospital all year long.
